It's difficult to say whether I would enjoy the game anywhere as much if I played it today for the first time. (And in turn, thanks to some streamers like JollyWangcore who put a spotlight on some of these mods) It seems impossible to think we'll ever get another game that will have such a tremendously large and impressive modding community. From simple maps to total conversions to 'HD improvements' to Gmod. But it's absolutely thanks to the modding community that has kept the games in the 'zeitgeist' all the way to this day. (Though it did get some official and community maps in later updates) And if you had the host enable `sv_cheats 1` and you pretty much had a predecessor to Gmod! Things got really wild when people started making interesting maps like puzzle, coop/zombie, surfing, etc. It just had 2 maps which were simply a sliced out portion of single player maps. Ignoring the horrible stuttering most people were experiencing at launch, it really performed solid on even shitty PCs too!Įven the tacked on Half-Life 2: Deathmatch that came out shortly after release was a serious hoot to play. It is also sad that all Half Life 2 got high praise by the press but Valve had issues to keep up pace with the episodic format. The Dead City is the eleventh level overall in Metro Exodus, and the final playable level within the game. I really liked the mix between puzzles, action and a little bit of open world. HINT: Bearings are nice, but not required. Just a reference for those that use bearings. The yellow mark at the top of the map big dial is just for calculating bearings.
